Antique Civil War Era U.s. Officer's Sword Fighting Knife/dagger/st. Louis Maker For Sale
You are offerding on a Civil War Era U.S. Officer’s Sword that was converted into a fighting knife. This is so well done that it looks like it was originally made as a fighting knife and not a sword.
We do not know the manufacturer - it is too difficult to read, but we can read St. Louis on the top part of the blade.
On the thick part of the edge of the blade we can see the word PROOF. It looks like it might say Iron Proof.
The blade measures about 12 3/4 inches long. Overall, the fighting knife measures about 18 5/8 inches long.
The blade is engraved with flowers and shields. On one side of the blade it says U. S.
The blade has a few small nicks, and there is some wear on the grip.
The sword is very fancy.
