Antique Civil War Model 1840 Cavalry Sword With Scabbard For Sale
Antique Civil War Model 1840 Cavalry Sword with Steel Scabbard. The blade is marked “Sheble & Fisher / Phliad". The blade is 35 inches long and the overall length is 41 inches. The blade has a nice patina consistent with its age and is in very good condition with no nicks on the cutting edge, although there is some very light surface corrosion in a few places. The leather washer at the base of the blade is intact. The hilt is tight. The wood grip has about three cracks. The wire is 100% intact and the leather is mostly gone. The scabbard is intact and in good condition, although is has about 4 small dents. The sword fits nicely into the scabbard.
