Antique Civil War Saber, Cutlass -sword I Can Not Read The Maker For SaleOffered today isanother attic find, aSaber or Cutlass from the Civil War period. If anyonbe knows a little more about this Saber, please let me know. I can not read the manufactor of the sword & I am sorry that I didn`t think of putting something hard under the point so as it would not have gone into the rug where you can not see it.It is just fine though, there is nothing wrong with the point. The blade is 28" long and about 1 1/2" wide. Again, that is straight across the curve. I took a cloth tape measure and along the blade it is 29 1/2". The hilt is about 4 1/4" long and about 3 1/2" wide. The total length is about 32" long but that is NOT following the curved blade with a cloth ruler whereas it would be a little longer. The sword has some discoloration as to be expected of an item of its age but no major defects and is in as found condition except for some light oil that I have applied to it about twice a year to keep it from rusting. I consider it in good to good condition. The material that wraps around the handle is loose near the pommel and the scabbard is very rough.I stand behind everything I sell. Please look at my response and offer with confidence. If for any reason you do not like what you have received from me, even if described correctly, you can return it not only for a full refund, but also I will pay the round trip freight and also pay you $5.00 for your trouble. Thank you for looking.
