Antique Civil War era two quarthandmade wheel thrown redware (earthenware) bean pot with its original leadglaze interior, lid rim top but no lid, as found, and attractive long usedblackened, burned and overflow bake bean goo hardened used relic surface andcondition. Maine, 1860-1875. Plump two quart size: 7 3/4” tall by 7” diameter at the base. Guaranteed old and original, this isnot a fake or reproduction. Perfectestate usage worn, burnt, goo hardened and blackened relic condition with nodamage but again noting the bean pot’s outstanding and exceptional usageblackened and burnt surface showing that this bean pot was used for yearsbefore, we believe, the lid was broken so the old pot was abruptly set asideand never used again, as found, to become an outstanding expression of whatMaine baked beans are.
