Antique Clark Hill Climber Friction Toy Automobile Car
I am offering an antique David P. Clark and Co. Hill Climbing Friction Toy Automobile circa1908. The toy is made of wood, pressed steel, and cast iron. The car also comes with three cast iron riders; two ladies in the back seat and the driver in the front seat. The toy uses a flywheel drive and it remains strong. The David P. Clark Co. was first founded in 1898 and was the first to use a heavy cast iron flywheel on friction drive Hill-Climber toys. William Schieble, a partner in the company bought out Clarks half of the company in 1909 and changed the name to Schieble Toy and Novelty Co.
The car measures 10 1/2" long 8" tall.
