Antique Cobalt Blue Decorated Stoneware Crock: J. Fisher, Lyons Ny Salt Glaze For Sale
Here's a beautiful 2 gallon, 19th Century stoneware crock in very good, well preserved condition. The manufacturer's mark, "J. Fisher, Lyons, NY" is stamped near the top and a large, hand applied number "2" in cobalt blue is just to the left. This piece dates somewhere within the last quarter of 19th Century and has a cobalt glazed floral decoration below the signature. The coloring is rich and free of pops and other firing flaws; the decoration has nice shading detail. There's a tiny chip on the inside of the opening rim along with a larger one on the outside of the rim, above the handle on the right side. There's one more on the bottom edge in front. There are no cracks, hairlines, or other flaws. Even the interior is in excellent condition. As the 12 pictures show, this is a very nice looking crock that displays well and looks fabulous. It was found just this week and is being offered offered here for the first time. It's a quality piece of salt glaze stoneware that's also a rare piece of Americana from Western New York State that sells to the highest buyer without reserve! Good luck!
