Antique Country Primitive Hand-hewn Wooden Dough Bowl, 19th Century Old Trencher:
Here's a nice-looking, antique, wooden dough bowl up for offers without reserve! It measures 26 3/4 inches long, 11 inches wide, and about 3 1/4 inches high. Hand-hewn and carved from a log more than a century ago, this old trencher has folksy-looking grips on the ends. It's solid, sound, and extremely rugged. The patina shows age and wear; it has wonderful coloring, a great wood grain and will blend nicely with other country antiques. It spent decades in forgotten storage and is an awesome relic from another time. Bowls like these were important, everyday utility pieces on farms and homesteads that served multiple purposes. They were most often used for making bread, serving meals, feeding animals, washing babies, and chopping meat and vegetables. Now they are sought after for use as decorative items and can take on different looks from time to time by changing up whatever is displayed inside them. This bowl would look great as a centerpiece on a dining table, sitting on a fireplace hearth, or even just standing in a corner. If you like primitive items , you'll love this old bowl! Don't miss out!
Please note:We will be out of town from July 9th until July 19th and won't be able to ship this piece until we return. When we do, it will be well packed and promptly sent as soon as possible. Thanks.
