RARE- BLACK FOREST CUCKOO CLOCK- LATE 1800's- Very Large

An antique, fully restored Black Forest cuckoo clock, probably from the late 1800's.

This clock is a very rare early example of a “ Hunter Style” cuckoo clock

This Gorgeous Cuckoo Clockhas beautiful handmade carvings, very detailed , in an amazing ebony color beauty.

The face trim is adorned with leafs on each side and a relief of a dog head, looks like a Labrador Retriever, ( the dog used for hunting) enclosed in a shield.The hunting motif continues with a hunting bag and a gun at the very bottom centre.

The top crest follows the same motif with leafs and acorns with a massive deer head inclosed in a shield at very centre.

The dialhas a diameter of 12 cm. The Roman Numerals are individualyenclosed inshield on white background

The movement has been fully serviced. The clock will strike and cuckoo every thirty minutes and at the hour, the sound of the gong is full and the cuckoo bird sounds well.

I collect cuckoo clock from many years and I can tell you that this clock is a real rare find

The clock comes sold with back door, pendulum and 2 weights
