Antique \'Daisy\' Adlake Railroad Kerosene Fuel Oil Glass and Metal Can Pat. 1881:
$99.95

This is a Daisy kerosene can patented April 26, 1881. It stands 10.5\" to the top of the cap, 12.375\" to the top of the spout, and has a 6.5\" diameter. This is another part of the large railroad collection I have been selling. These vessels were used by railroads and businesses as kerosene containers for lamps and appliances. It consists or an ornate metal jacket with a stamped flower design. Rows of oval holes were stamped out to view the contents of the jar. The metal jacket envelopes a light blue heavy glass jar and has a wire handle with wood grip. This top consists of the threaded lid and spout. This has been kept in great condition over the 100+ years of its existence. These were made by Adams & Westlake who specialized in hardware products for the railroad industry. They later shortened their name to Adlake (famous for their RR lanterns) and are still in existence today.A similar one, in poor condition, recently sold on for over $140 (see this LINK).
