DETAILS OF ITEM

This is an antique early 20th Century Imari plate that measures 7.5 inches in diameter. It was hand painted with repeating panels of landscape and floral scenes. The center motif is a good luck peach. The predominant colors are cobalt blue, vermillon red, green, light purple and accents of gold. The outer rim of the plate was decorated in a blue and white Sometsuke pattern.

The condition is very good for its age from the 1920's (Taisho-Showa era). Somewhat heavy for its size, it was heavily potted prior to firing in the kiln.
