Antique Early Cow Weathervane And Lightning Rod With White Bulb - Folk Art For Sale
Antique Early Cow Weathervane and Lightning Rod with White Bulb:
Today for sale is this wonderful early antique cow weathervane. Please use the photos to help judge the condition of the weathervane. The cow on the weathervane still has some of its original white paint with some added patina. I found this weathervane here in Maine, so it has seen some harsh conditions, but still remains in a solid condition. Positioned in front of the cow is a beautiful directional arrow which I believe is made out of brass. Below the directional is a beautiful white glass lightning bulb that has some black on the bottom, perhaps from smoke out of a chimney. The main rod is twisted and I believe the finial is missing from the top. Sitting at the bottom of the weathervane are three mounting legs and feet. This is a great early piece of american folk art and would be a great addition to any home.
*Special Note: The weathervane will be disassembled to allow for safer shipping.
Total Height: 30 inches.
Directional Length: 21.5 inches.
Cow Height: 6.75 inches.
Cow Length: 9 inches.
Ball Diameter: approx. 4.5 inches.
Hello, My name is Jason. I have lived in Maine my entire life, and I truly love it here. Its great knowing that the rocky coast or the wonderful wood and farm country is only a short drive away. When I’m not working full time as a Marine Machinery Mechanic, I spend my free time going out on picks here in Maine and the surrounding New England States. I love finding things in old barns, garages, yards, and estates. Some of the items I discover don’t leave my home, but most of the time I like bringing my discoveries to sale. The things I gravitate mostly to are items such as old tools, advertising, fishing and hunting stuff, and anything transportation related. Most of the time I bring things to sale the way I found it, but occasionally I will gently clean an item to show some of the details. If there is a specific item you are looking for, just send a message and I will add it to my list. I really enjoy selling things on and would like to do so for a long time, so if you have any issues with an item, please contact me before leaving response. Thank you for taking the time to visit my sales, please come back often.
All items are photographed here at my home, or sometimes I find a nice spot at my camp (I live in Maine, of course I have a camp). The item in the photos is the item you will receive if you are the winning buyer. I will do my best to describe each item to the best of my knowledge. If you have any questions or information on an item, please send me a message.
I believe in treating people the way I would want to be treated, so I will pack and ship each item with the care and respect you deserve. My goal is to keep shipping costs to a minimum. Generally I will ship an item the day after payment is received. Sometimes with my busy schedule I cannot make it to the post office until Saturday. Please contact me before offerding with any special shipping requests.
I will except returns for a full refund of the item, if I fail to properly explain an item as long as it comes back in the same conditions I sent it at the buyers costs of shipping.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to visit my sale. Check out my other items up for sale which I will combine shipping when possible with tracking included. Have a great day!
