Estate Fresh, here we are offering a Wonderful Early Skookum, Hand Crafted Indian Chief Doll with Hand Painted Features (on Crepe Paper or Corn Husk), Black Glass Eyes, Real Black Hair with a tightly wrapped Camp Blanket. His Fett have been chewed on but some of the marking is still visible, the copyright symbol and a \"W\". Which makes us attribute it to being made by Mary Francis Woods, circa early 1900\'s.
This Doll measures approx. 14\" high.
This is Pre-Owned, Played With and Poorly Stored and it is in VERY GOOD condition for its age. He has a two pops on his face. Blanket is loose and a little tattered around bottom but has NO moth holes. Head band does have a small moth hole, is held on with a straight pin and feathers are tattered. Feet were chewed on by some creature which makes the marking incomplete. Small rip at neck, face to blanket, in what looks to be crepe paper or corn husk. I do not know enough about these dolls, so Please look at all the picture. He is dusty & dirty from poor storage. There has been NO restoration.
I try my best to get info correct, but sometimes I need help and welcome information from other er. If you have info to share, Please do and I\'ll pass it along here.
Please view all pictures, to see more about condition. Color may vary a bit in my pictures, due to lighting, reflection and shadows. Colors, if any, looks much better in person.
