Welcome to our sale! Many of you know us as longtime collectors and sellers of antique and vintage Hallowe'en, Christmas, and Easter holiday memorabilia, paper ephemera, antique dolls and toys, and lovely old china and glassware. For your consideration, we are proud to present a wonderful large size antique bunny rabbit candy container that was made in Germany in the early 1900s! This charming fellow has his original paint and his original glass eyes!Please meet Patrick! He was named after the beloved Patron Saint that we Irish Americans know so well! He is a nice-sized bunny measuring 7 ½” tall x 7” long x 3” wide.He is lightly marked on his head plug: Germany. Patrick is a really wonderful example and his colors are warm and rich. He is in naturalshades of warm brown, tan, dark beige, creamy white and black was used to accent his back, his cute little tail, his ears, his bunny mouth and his wiggly littlenose. His glasseyes are a lovely shade of dark amber with black pupils.

Candy containers such as this one were filled with sweet treats and given by loving mothers and teachersas gifts or game prizes to good little children in celebration of Spring and the Easter holiday.

So often old composition bunny rabbit candy containers such as Patrick will have repairs to the ears, but we are very HOPPY to report that this bunny has none! He has a few small specks of paint loss commensurate with his age and light rubs to the very tips of his ears. He has roughness to one back paw, but this was done in the making.
