Antique Emerald Green
1870 * English * Sterling Silver Thimble
little antique shoe is made
of pressed glass that has been hand cut & polished around the
opening. The front
is painted with a butterfly and flowers. The
opening is intended to hold a thimble. There are some minor nicks and
around the opening but the overall condition is good. It measures 2
silver (tested) thimble has a faceted rim and an engraved band.
It was made before English silversmiths were required by law to
hallmark (and pay duty on) small silver items. The condition is nice
with no holes or repairs. It's
about an American child's size 4 (12.5 mm diameter opening). A
