Antique Sterling Silver Filigree Thimble
English * Circa 1800
lacy thimble is solid
sterling silver (tested) and
of delicate filigree. It's English and dates to the late 18th or early
19th century. It's a tall thimble and about an
American size 7 (opening
is 14.25 mm in diameter). It has been lightly gilded. Usually these
have no marks at all, but this one has the maker's mark "SM" stamped
inside the top. This mark belonged to Samuel Marshall, of 23 Castle
