Antique English Oak & Silver Plated Drum Form Biscuit Barrel Circa 1890A stunning Victorian Biscuit Box or Barrel, always highly sought after in this wonderful Drum form !
A very scarce and highly sought after shape.The fittings are made from silver plate with the lid topped with a finial in the form of a pair of drum sticks against an open piece of sheet music, both lavishly gilded.
The interior of the barrel retains the original cream colour ceramic fitted liner.
The swing handle has a belt and buckle detail incorporated into it.The barrel has a makers mark under the lid but I have not been able to identify the maker - hopefully you can.Measures....
