This is a most unusual serving pieces I have ever encountered. It is very old, as you can see by the glaze and foot in the pictures. It has a WOOD top with an acorn finial. It has a wonderful curvy shape. I believe it is soft paste. The rim of the piece is unglazed as well as the bottom. There are firing cracks on the inside of the piece (they are not chips, see pictures). The bottom and sides have kiln grit in them. I have seen this type of glaze on old Chinese pieces dating back to the 18th century. I am not sure of the age of this piece or the maker; however, I am guessing late 1700\'s to mid 1800\'s and most likely English.
There are no chips, no cracks, no fleabites. The wood top is perfect. There is some paint and gold wear but it is not horrible. I have 12 supersized pictures, please look them over. If you have any other questions or require more pictures please let me know.It is 11\" long from handle to handle, 5.5\" tall to the top of the acorn finial, x 7.5\" wide.
