Antique French Bisque Figurine of multiple characters playing chess,stunning..!!
A Very Early and Rare multi character bisque figurine.
We have on offer a truly magnificent figurine in a bisque finish of typical French design. This piece has so much detail going on that i don't know where to start...!!
Three characters playing chess with amazing detail. The chess pieces themselves are very fine with one chess piece chipped as shown in the photos. Two young ladies plotting against the young gentleman in a gripping game of chess. The detail on the clothing is stunning with the typical Bleu Celeste stripes on the young ladies dress decorated with floral design and with raised gilding originated only by the sevres factory and know as "Honey Gilding" The honey gilding continues onto the young man with elaborate gild to the overcoat of wonderful swags on green and also with the raised honey gild to the pink Pantaloon.
The players are seated on two king Louis chairs and playing on a French King Louis table .The piece is truly magnificent and i cannot Begin to truly express how wonderful this rare and most exquisite piece is. The detail on all of the lace on the young mans cravat and cuffs of the ladies dress are truly stunning. The whole piece is situated on an almostneo-classical base that is decorated with golden hand painted gilding.
The underside of the figurine has impressed numbers but no obvious manufacturers back stamp as i believe this is a very early piece or prototype of its time..with impressed inventory number "III" AND "12"
This piece will truly astound the the new owner beyond expectation..!!
A fantastic investment for the future and great example of The finest French Porcelain you will find.

Very good original condition with one small Chip to chess piece andwith age relatedwear commensurate with age to gilding and paintwork.
