~~GORGEOUS antique French oak writing deskwith one drawer and highly sought after barley twist legs and stretcher! This piece could also be usedas center table in a foyer or as an entry hall table~~~no need to put this beautiful piece against a wall unless you want to~~~it's carved on all four sides and will "float" inthe center of anyroom. Exquisitely carved Renaissance Revival elements~~~grapevine carved skirt and drawer pull with rosette carved lower turned blocks supporting the legs~~~the back is just as beautiful as the front and sides! Beautiful beveled edge top. A stunning example of the craftsmanship of the era! Heavy, thick barley twist legs and thick lower center stretcher with up finial. Wide center desk drawer with highly carved "vine" pull is hand cut dovetailed construction. Beautiful dark oak patina is in very nice condition!Solid oak, sturdy and stable.
