I have for sale one of the coolest pieces of Edme Samson & Cie Co. porcelain dishes. I have never & couldn't find another similar one like it. Made Circa 1870-1890 in Paris france by Samson porcelain. It is a shallow rectagular dish with a beautiful hand painted armorial crest in the center with shield & crown with a dog & lion standing on either side. With a ribbon below whichs reads with what looks like "imper de ricte". It also has squeeze bag style white moriage decoration around the edge with some polychrome enameled flowers as well. Then it is mounted in a fabulous French Dore (Gold Gilt) Metal (Probably Bronze) Base with gorgeous multi color enameling Champleve. The piece is made or designed to ressemble Chinese Export from around the same time period or a little earlier that was being imported to France at the time & was very popular. It is marked on the back side with the Edme Samson mark which was used from 1870 until about 1920. The porcelain and metal are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some minor wear tot the metal and enameling. The dish is mounted into the metal mount with a ceramic paste holding it in place. It measures 6" by 4-1.2" by 1".
