Stunning French museum display cabinet purchased from a wonderful antique center in the Netherlands. We used it in our store to house catalogs and display special pieces under the glass. It is made of oak, typical of furniture made in the Northern areas of France and was probably situated in a museum in that area. From the end you see in tone of thepictures it looks like it was joined to another one at some time, while the other end is panelled and appears to have a locked door with no key.Cannot imagine a cupboard because of the drawers,it is a mystery which we never investigated.
The double sided unit has glass lift up lids, and 3 pull-out slides on each side. Also, each side has 18 large drawers complete with brass handles and a slot to put a card naming the contents.
Condition is as seen in the photos. It always attracted a lot of enquiries when it was in our store but at that time we were using it and didn't want to sell it. Circumstances have now changed and was put into storage when our store closed recently.
Buyer must arrange their own shipping but we can help by giving you names of freight companies in the area. The top part with the glass separates but the base with all the drawers is in one piece. The company who is storing this for us could quote you delivery so contact me if you need their number. The piece will need to be picked up before the end of this month (May).
