DESCRIPTION

Antique French silver thimble with plain knurled top over a textured border
with applied leaves in 18ct yellow gold and flowers in pink gold. The border and applied motifs
have chased decoration and one of the flowers has been left plain as a vacant engravable
cartouche. Ornate chased turn over rim. Gilded on the inside. Stamped above the border with the
Boar's Head (tête de sanglier) silver guarantee mark. Made ca 1900. In excellent
condition - very slightly off round but free of holes, dents, damage and repairs. Height approx.
2 cm; internal base diameter approx. 1.5 cm; weight 4.6 grams.
Comes complete with jeweller's shaped brown leather thimble case with hook
and eye catch and gold tooling to top and base. Lined with pale blue silk and dark blue velvet.
