Original French Art Nouveau period 18ct Gold petitedrop Earrings, approx. 7mm diameter, 26 mm total length, with sprung leverback fittings for pierced ears. These are a small light &delicate design featuring a downturned open roseframed by aplain-polisheddrop-shaped border, approx. 7 x 14 mm,suspended from a 5 mm open target circle.
Hallmarked with the French Eagle's Head for 18ct Gold on both components, and several maker's marks.Approx. weight 1 gram.
Very good general condition. A little compression and flatteningto the domedouter edge of the 'target' ring but otherwise fine for age.
Thisfeminine and romanticArt Nouveau rosedesign has been the model for so many popularreproductions ever since but not quite the same in proportion and refinement.
