An elegant antique FRENCH carved LIBRARY TABLE or \"bureau plat\" desk, commonly referred to as a Victorian \"DOLPHIN\" table, so called for the ornately carved \"dolphin\" feet.

A great size for this style, making it perfect for a companion desk or sofa table…wonderfully versatile for use in today\'s home!!

This is a FRENCH bureau plat; you can see the differences from an English table in the drop finials as well as the swirl & carving designs.

Condition:

The desk is in good condition for its age, with normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches and other imperfections. Wear & age to the top surface, very common and something we see in almost every one of these bureau plats. Drop finials missing on the back two corners. I always provide multiple photos that should be considered as part of the description and I encourage you to email me with any questions you might have prior to offerding. Please keep in mind antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character….NOT for like-new condition!!!
