Antique French/German bisque shoulder head doll:

This is an exceptionally lovely 15\" bisque shoulder head on a gusset jointed leather body. I don\'t know if this is a French or German doll since she is marked on the back shoulder plate with only a number 1. The mark is along the bottom edge of the plate and did not show up in the photos. This doll looks somewhat like a Bahr & Porschild that I have in my collection, yet she resembles some of the French dolls I\'ve owned. If anyone knows her origins, please let me know. This doll\'s head and shoulder plate are perfect, no cracks, chips or breaks. She has single stroke eyebrows, her original set brown glass eyes with prominent painted lashes, red eye and nose dots, a slightly turned up nose and an open mouth with four set teeth. Her original leather body is in very good condition. Her upper arms have been reinforced and her porcelain lower arms and hands are perfect and of high quality. Her lower legs are cloth. The body is not leaking sawdust. This doll\'s mohair wig is very old. It may or may not be original, but it\'s what she has and I think it suits her so I\'ve kept it with her. The wig and pate are attached to each other, but they are not attached to the head. Her head is firmly stuffed with tissue paper and the wig is held in place with a hat pin that goes through the wig and into the tissue paper. Wigs get ruined when they keep falling off. I did not try to style or comb the wig. This doll came to me naked and the beautiful clothing has all been custom made for her and fits her perfectly. This is a well made, well dressed quality doll and being the perfect cabinet size doll, she\'s so enjoyable and easy to display.
The doll stand is not included.
