Antique Georgian 18ct Gold "hair Locket" Inscribed Mourning Ring Circa 1825 For Sale
Being offered for sale this exceptionally Rare Antique Georgian Period Gold hair locket Inscribed Mourning ring dated 1824.
The reeded shank and highly carved setting hold a wonderful Quartz Fronted Braided hair locket. The inside of the ring is inscribed with " C.Morrison Died 31st Aug 1824 aged 82" The inscription is in old script.
The gold is testing as 18ct the ring is a size Pthat'sa U.S 7.3 and aEuropeansize 17 the band width is 2 mm graduating to the setting. The setting measures 1 cm by 1.2 cm the ring has been well cared for hence is in great wearable condition. Total weight is 2.9 gms the ring comes in the bluevelvetbox shown in the photo's.
