This nice
disc style pin cushion is carved in the shape of a set of bellows and
it has a lovely old patina and grain pattern.
It is
pierced on both sides, allowing the
underlining red color to show through.The condition is
excellent
with no
chips, cracks or loss and it has the original
red silk
cushion which is intact.
It dates to
the
early 19th century and measures 2 3/4" long by almost 1" wide.
This piece is shown on p. 143 of
Gay Ann Rogers' book The
