Two (2) antique Black Forest Wood Inkwell carvings. These are very nice antique inkwells that are wood carvings of dogs. One is a Scottie, I believe the other is a sheep dog or herder.

The Scottie stands 4 1/2\" tall to the top of his raised ear and sits about 2\"x2\".

The sheep dog is about 6\" across and is about 3 1/2\" tall at his highest point.

The smaller Scottie dog is in very nice condition for his age, with no chips or cracks, no repairs, just some wear on the edges. It has the number \'14\' on the back of the head.

The herder is of a lighter wood, and has some damage and shows some repairs to the ears. It is unmarked. Neither has their original inkwell liner, but the Scottie has a small brass liner replacement for the inkwell. Both have their original glass eyes and look like they were actually used as inkwells.

I don\'t know much else about these, I just liked the carvings and I like dogs. A nice pair for the dog lover or writing instrument collector.
