This German model was likely made in the early 1900s. The mill is 12 1/2\" long x 4 1/4\" wide x 5\" deep. The birch wood mounting plate is 15\" long x 5 3/4\" wide by 1/2\" thick. The grinder is completely original and is missing only the wooden cap on the bean canister. Graduated glass cup is in perfect condition. It is marked with graduations on 3 sides. The outside of the metal mechanism has a few chips in the paint and it has crackled over time. The adjustment knob is on the handle stem: very easy to adjust, just lift the metal tab and turn knurled nut. Porcelain body is in very good condition, just a little paint has worn off the word \"KAFFEE\". Wooden back plate was cleaned and refinished with a few coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and hand polished with superfine steel wool and pastewax. Very nice brass plate identifies the manufacturer. Wood is clean and free of any cracks, dings or splits. The grinder has a conical burr which is the best type to achieve a uniform particle grind that gives a more even extraction of flavors, so that the bitter taste that comes from particle dust is not created. Easily mounted on a wall for display or use. Shipping weight is approximately 5 pounds. !Very Fast Handling!
