Welcome to my sale - Up for your consideration is this wonderful antique Victorian era mechanical pencil. The pencil is a telescoping or retractable style that collapses to make it much shorter. The gold ball head of the pencil has the original hang ring with the top part f the shaft beautifully engraved with alternating fine line patterns, the rest of the shaft is black vulcanite or ebonite (hard rubber). No marks were found, but very similar to pencils/pens produced by Leroy Fairchild pieces. Metal is gold filled/plated, and it appears to be functioning.

CONDITION - The pencil is in fine, antique, pre-owned condition! Some normal age/use surface wear, little to no wear on gold, a few small bumps/nicks on vulcanite one is shown in last photo - as with all of my estate items, I have not cleaned or polished it.

SIZE - When extended it measures approximately 3 3/8\" long including hang ring, 2\" long when collapsed, 5/16\" across ball top, 1/4\" across vulcanite shaft.
