Antique Hawkes ABP American Brilliant Cut Glass Trumpet Flower Vase 10\" Marked on the base, C.1900.
This is a beautiful, hand-blown and hand cut glass flower clear vase made during the American Brilliant Period of the mid to late 19th century. The flared10\" vaseis designed with classic hob stars, diamonds, and zipper cuts. The base is cut with a large star decoration.Marked on the base with a trefoil form enclosing a hawk in each of the two bottom lobes with a fleur-de-lis in the center. The firm\'s logo was a trefoil form enclosing a hawk in each of the two bottom lobes with a fleur-de-lis in the center used until 1920. By 1920, only the acid-etched name HAWKES began to appear.
This piece is in great condition for its age. There are a few flea bites along the teeth of the rim, but this is only noticeable upon very close inspection. There are no major chips, no breaks, and no repairs. Some light scratches on the bottom.
The vase measures 10 inches tall. The diameter of the base is 3-3/4 inches and the diameter of the opening at the top is 4 inches.
