These are wonderful hooks designed from antique railroad spikes. The beautiful blackenedmetal creates anice wrought iron look.These high carbon steel nails were originally made for the Southern Pacific Railroad in the late 1800s (circa 1880s)for the steam train tracks. A very unusual usage that makes the perfect gift for a Railroadiana collector or old train enthusiast, these are rustic and primitive antiques that look great in a barn, arena, stable, hunting lodge, farm cabin, man cave, or garage shop.
Great for hanging horse tack like bridles, lead ropes, saddle blankets, brushes, hoof picks, extra horse shoes, blacksmith/farriertools, leather items, etc. Ultra strong to hang just about anything on, from coats and coveralls, to tools and guns. Also work great for screen door knobs, cup hooks, cupboard door handles, copper pots and cast iron kettles, mantle decor, fireplace accessories, and ball cap or cowboy hat hangers. Two holes in each for added stability. Please note: Two matching screws per hook included.
Hooks are individually hand-crafted by our metal artist right here in Southern Oregon, so some variation occurs, usually measuring around 2.5" out, and around 4.5" long, and each weighing 10-13oz.Extra high carbon steel hardened in an antique wood and charcoal forge to create an extra thick layer of super carbon blackened steel for a strong natural finish of ultimate beauty, quality, scratch and weather resistance.
