Beautiful old heavy-duty hunting dagger of the \"pig-sticker\" variety in solid relic condition. European, possibly Spanish. Pommel has a \"key\" hole on its underside for a knucklebow that has been lost in action some time over the centuries. The hollow iron handle has worn through in one place, as seen, showing the tang of the blade. Handle has a slight wiggle but is solidly attached. Tang is peined/hammered to the pommel. Layered steel blade is bent, as seen, and is showing what may either be forging flaws or nascent cracks in the area of the bend. A very rare/unusual item to see in USA with this kind of age, and would be much more expensive in better condition. THE LAST THREE PICTURES ARE OF A DIFFERENT DAGGER OF THE SAME STYLE. THIS sale IS FOR THE IRON HANDLED DAGGER ONLY. The other, bone-handled dagger is currently for sale from a different person, who is asking thirty five hundred dollars for it.
