Beautiful antique violin labeled Riccardo Antoniazzi Cremonese fece in Milano l'anno 1899. Top is spruce, ribs and back are of exquisitely flamed maple, and the scroll is simply gorgeous. This instrument would be worth having just for its looks, but it also has a warm, pleasant, even tone with quite nice projection. There are also a couple of faint inscriptions on the ribs on both sides of the lower bout, easily seen in the pictures but almost imperceptible to the naked eye. Not sure what they mean, but they certainly add an element of history/mystery to the violin. There are no cracks or repairs. The violin is completely solid, ready for your enjoyment. It is full-size with LOB at 14 in. (356 mm.) and total length at 23.3 in. (589 mm.). It will be meticulously packed and shipped insured anywhere in the continental U.S. Please feel free to ask any questions, preferably prior to offerding. Thanks!
