A wonderful Jerusalem Iznik Ottoman style floral patterned vase.Nice size, lovely hand painted ornament in classic style: good alkaline colours:green ground, with flowers/fliage in cobolt blue, copperturquoise, iron yellow, manganese purple-brown, terracotta red all held in the typical stable black outline pigment - a re. to kohl eyes.These were made by Armenian potters in Palestinian Jerusalem, who had migrated from the Iznik area of Turkey during the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
Unmarked.Condition is good, almost perfect, just a few age stains on the rim - no chips or hairlines, a nibble at the base.Really lovely piece - great for any collection of Eastern Mediterranean Pottery.Displays brilliantly.
