Antique Japanese silk and metal thread embroideredand painted commemorativemilitary naval souvenir circa 1880-1920. Measures approximately31 by 22 inches including frame. Beautifully and finely embroidered with silk and silver metal thread with painted ship commemorating and in remembrance of the young sailors cruiseof China, Japan and the Philippine Islands. Fantastic in every way. Appears to be in very goodconditionas shown in photos....not examined out of frame.Good color. Good drawingwith exquisitely balanced composition. Note extremely detailed painting of ship as well as raised silk and metal thread embroidery work.
