Antique Kestner 7" Swivel Neck Glass Eyed All Bisque Doll With Yellow Boots For Sale
This very pretty approximately 7" all bisque doll (from the tip of her boots to the highest point of her forehead) with yellow heeled boots was manufactured by the Kestner Company in Germany circa 1890-1910. She is mold number 208, and both her arms and legs bear the number "9" on their inner portions though the number on her right arm is a bit harder to read. She is a better quality doll with luminous bisque, multi-stroked brows, sleep blue glass eyes (lid wax soiled & crackled) detailed with finely painted black upper and lower lashes, healthy blush, and a sweet coral closed mouth. She is swivel necked with jointed arms and legs that are detailed with white stockings outlined in blue and yellow heeled boots with black accents. Leather lines her inner thighs. She appears to be in nice condition, except for her torso. Please note the heavy chips around the neckline of her torso and on her upper left shoulder area. Her bisque also sustains paint rubs (more notably the tip of her nose and along her crotch area), imperfections, light speckling, and roughage due to the manufacturing process. Possible very faint chips to the tips of a couple of her fingers-- Light chipping to her boots-- I do not see a hairline in her head. Her stringing is not original. Though she may require a new torso, she remains a striking doll in her larger size with yellow boots. My photos detail her condition accurately.
