This sale is for an antique lot of clothes for dolls. There are three antique baby gowns here. One is particularly old with elaborate needlework and lace. It is also a nice doll size. Also included are a pair of white leather baby moccasins with pink feather stitching on them, and a pair of wool booties with embroidery and a pair of long knit booties and an antique bonnet. These items are very old and some may need work, and some are yellowed from age. The first gown is the elaborate one. The pictures will show the wonderful needlework, better than I can describe with words. Gown also has lots of tucks. Lace does need mending in areas and on the back of gown is a stain with some small tears in fabric. Gown has all original buttons. It measures about 42" long but is only about 7.75" across underarm to underarm, so a good doll size. The next gown is a white dimity with a batiste? insert down front with ruffles on each side of insert and lace on sleeves and sleeve edges. The gown still has all original buttons and buttons all the way down the back, for easy dolly dressing. It measures about 19" long and about 13.5" across underarm to underarm. This gown has a small tear on the back. The next gown is made from a white windowpane fabric. This gown is trimmed with a scalloped and embroidered ruffle. It has its original buttons. It measures about 12" across underarm to underarm and about 30" long. The bonnet is made from batiste?(not sure)and has embroidered circles or wreaths and lots of old lace. The ties are the fabric with lace attached to edges. The fabric of the ties do show stress, but are still intact and strong enough for display. It measures about 6" top to bottom and about 5.5" front to back. There are two tiny holes on one side of bonnet. The baby shoes are white leather, moccasin style. The leather is soft and still supple, although lightly soiled. There is pink feather stitches on front and side of shoes. You can see inserts where ribbon ties would go, ties are missing, but easily replaced. The inside lining of shoes was probably silk or a silk blend and lining has shredded from age. The shoes measure about 3.75" long and about 2" across at the widest part. One shoe has "JDB" stamped on the bottom. The wool booties are really cute. They have blue edging and embroidery on them and three tiny pearl button closures. One bootie does have a few tiny, tiny holes. They measure about 4" long and about 1.75" wide. The last item is the longer knit booties. The tops are lacy knit and the booties have knit ties with poms at ends. One bootie will need mending at the toe.
