Antique Majolica: Etruscan Pedestal Bowl, Basketweave & Begonia Leaf, 19thc., Nr:
Antique Majolica Bowl on raised pedestal base, unmarked, most-likely American (GSH?), late-19thC. Features an exceptional multi-colored Begonia Leaf over a yellow Basket-weave motif. The underside of the bowl is equally impressive, with splashes of earth-tone glazes; nice rope detail around the base perimeter. There is a nick on the rim and some very tight hairlines as shown; fine, age-appropriate crazing on the glaze surface (see close-ups). A wonderful, early example that will display prominently in any Antique Majolica collection. Please see photos for further description and complete details. The Bowl diameter is 9" and the pedestal base is 5" across; stands 3"H at the rim. ; ships fully insured to the highest buyer. Domestic (US) buyers only, please. Good Luck, and be sure to browse my other Listings ending soon. Thanks.
