Hi! Fresh from a nice old Maine estate is this wonderfulAntique SETH THOMAS LARKIN "SHASTA" ADAMANTINETime and Strike Mantel/Shelf CLOCK - in very goodantique condition!I am not sure of the exact age of thisclock however, these particular clocks were built by Seth Thomas as a promotional give awaywhen people purchased certainShasta Products back in the late 1800's through the early 1900's.This has a coil gong which strikes every hour and a bell strike once on the half hour.With the acception of a few tiny nicks and very light scracthes from use and moving around,the Adamantine finish is gorgeous!The serpentine top has awonderful semi gloss lustre however,I am guessing it has been polished or waxed several times over the last 100 plus years,as there arevery light scratches(maybe from a towel?)in the surface.The pillars, supports,and half barrel sections are very clean and complete.The bezel door and glass are complete and intact.The movement keeps very good time.It has recently been professionallycleaned and serviced. There is anST key andpendulum included(pictured).This is approximately 11 5/8" tall x 16 1/8" wide x 6 5/8" deep.The back access door to the clock has been replaced at some point.It does not look like anyone has clearcoated the surface-it appears to be ORIGINAL.When it is setting on a shelf or mantel,between thesoothing tick tockof the movementand thetone of the antique gothic hourlygong chime/half hour bell strike,it makes a wonderful addition to any room.I am listing a few antique/vintage clocks from my collectionthis week.Please feel free to check them out!
