Antique Marie Antoinette Ooak Glass Eyed French Doll For Sale
This doll has me stumped, I know it's old and I believe it is French. It is made of either some kind of plastic or Paper mache. The eyes are glass and do not open and close The doll comes out of a New York estate ; The body is cloth. She is holding an antique fan with a portrait on it. It has several ribbons from the L I Doll Fancier Club, a blue one that reads: Presidents Choice and a ribbon that reads Patchogue Doll Fanciers Club of Long Island New York 1st place 1992 and a few other white and blue ribbons The mohair wig set in Marie Antoinette style is adorned with beaded flowers and green rhinestones for the leaves. The dress is brocade with rows of antique lace and piping and assorted decorations. The back of the dress is tattered and needs to be repaired by a professional and I've noticed a few other spots that are also tattered. The left arm also has a tear in the dress that is not very noticeable ; Please look at every picture, The face is hand painted with black eyelashes and round blush circles.; She has pink lips, dark painted eyebrows and a painted on beauty mark over the left eye The shoes are pink suede with blue ribbons on top of an applique and topped with an antique rhinestone buckle. There is a snap missing from one of the shoes as you can see in the picture I see no markings but the dress is sewed on and I tried to look underneath but I don't see a marking This doll is magnificent! offer with confidence!
