THISCLOCK IS TRULY AN EXCEPTIONAL FIND! It was presented to Mr. Thomas Spence bythe teachers of “Camlachie Free Church Sabbath School” on “3rd Dec.1866.” My research indicates that Camlachie is a part of Glasgow, Scotland. Icouldn’t find any information about Mr. Spence or how the clock found its way tothe United States.

Themovement is French, manufactured by L. Marti. The dial is porcelain and in verygood condition, with a small chip at the time side winding arbor. The glass isbeveled and super thick. There is also beveled glass on the back door and I believeboth to be original. The case is small, about 8 inches high, and made of slateand marble. There are some small chips on the edges, something you would expectto find on a clock that is 150 years old. I believethe presentation plaque is silver, but not sure of that.

Themovement is clean and has been serviced recently. The clock runs and keepsgreat time. It strikes the hours and half-hour on a bell.
