10\" x 12\" rabbet, 3/8\" rabbet width, 1/2\" rabbet depth
9-1/4\" x 11-1/4\" inside frame size

I don\'t know what wood they are made of. The finish looks like walnut to me. Looking at the backs, one has a lighter finish than the other, so I\'m not sure if they\'re made of the same wood or not, but the moldings and finish colors on the frontmatch, which I think is the important thing.

One frame - the one without the picture - has a slightly alligatored finish to it (kind of a crackling to the old finish which makes it look even more antique than it would otherwise). Aside from a few very minor scratches and marks, it looks fine.

The other frame - the one with the picture - had several scratches and rubs to the frame edges, but those largely faded as I polished the frame so that now the frame looks fine in my opinion unless viewed up close with a critical eye. It isn\'t alligatored as the other is, but is still a matching frame (both frames came to us together).

The picture has scratches and divits in it, no doubt from rough handling.

Both frames have the original wire hangers, and the one with the picture has a wooden back.

Nice frames overall and great that they match.
