This
sweet antique
needle book is carved of mother of pearl and engraved on the front with
the French word for needles "Aiguiller".
Inside is a silk pocket with a packet of needles and finely twilled
wool needle pages. A thin steel bodkin holds it closed by slipping into
little sleeves at the edge.
The
condition of the
mother of pearl is excellent with no chips or other damage. The back
spine is dk blue velvet. The silk is fragile but in good condition and
all original. It
measures 1 7/8" by 1 1/2".
