A lovely Antique sampler in frame, featuring an unusual and very rare blessing or motto
\"SAFE IN THE ARMS OF JESUS\"
with Jesus and child in the center as a focal point. These were popular circa late 1800’s and stitched on perforated paper or card stock. Beautiful needlework design and delicate workmanship. Color of floss is very good for the age. However as is often found in these old works, there may be shadowed stains from humidity, under the glass over the years, to nearly all margin areas which adds to the patina and charm. Some shadows are from my inexperienced photography.The backing is rough cut board and there are nails that are used to secured the backing.Colors are Red, Green, white & beige on tan paper. Handy wire in back for easy hanging.Beautiful addition to any decor, shabby chic, bed & breakfast to modern. Wonderful antique to add to your own shrine or prayer center.
