Antique Nippon Era Hair Receiver Or Vanity Jar:
Victorian porcelain hair receiver or vanity jar.
No marking on bottom but based on style and painting, I'd say it was made in Japan around 1900.
The jar has a floral pattern with lots of purple and green. It also has raised paint (moriage) in yellow and white dots. There is gold gild on the jar. It is a striking piece. The shape reminds me of a gourd.
The jar has a 3 3/4 inch diameter and is 2 1/2 inches tall. It weighs 7 ounces.
See the pictures for the detail. No chips or cracks.
