Today I am listing an estate found, closetfresh (still dusty dirty as I didn\'t clean it), parlor guitar in an old purple lined case. This one looks to be pre 1900 and has neat grained woods throughout (I don\'t know what they are though). It is about 37\"l X 12\"w. It has the fancy engraved red brass tuner plates, with aged white tuner knobs (they are probably the\" i \" word, showing graining, but not celluloid, bone or plastic!) andbone nut & bridge. It has inlay around the sound hole and a back stripe, plus binding front & back and 3 dots inlaid on the side of the neck. The neck has a split (see pics), where it attaches to the body, that needs glued. Also it hasthe metal string holder added over the blackwood bridge with the pyramid shaped ends (it is missing the pins). The bottom end of the guitar has some loose & cracked spots on the edges od both top & bottom (see pics) and is missing strap button. So it needs some TLC, but is a very cool piece to display as is. This one is really interesting and probably historic because the 2 spots inside the guitar where it might have a maker stamp,it haslabels glued on. The labels reads Napoleon W Gould 139 Fulton St. Brooklyn NY. Internet searches show some hits on his name and that there are museums that hold some of his stuff.==================

\"Not much is known today about Napoleon W. Gould. He was a British guitarist and banjo player who went to the United States sometimes in the mid-nineteenth century, where he joined the Daniel Decatur Emmett minstrel show and appeared with it, and with other minstrel groups, at least 20 times between about 1850 and 1870. While in the US, Gould published several compositions and arrangements for guitar and for banjo, notably, with the Oliver Ditson Company of Boston\". Shipping will be $55 with paypal payment due at sale end. Feel free to ask any questions.
