Antique Pearson-Page bell, 20C. on one of their standard bases. Handle could represent one of the Dickens characters.
It is a very good heavy quality brass with a lovely patina. It is complete with its clanger and sounds very good.
It measures 4" high, bell diameter 2 3/4".During the 1920s and 30s, the biggest source in the UK of reproduction copper
and brassware was the Pearson Page factory in Sherlock Street, Birmingham.Their products were very popular with customers
wanting continued suppliesof traditional Victorian and Edwardian designs rather than new ones. Itemswere not branded by the
manufacturer since they were sold through a varietyof outlets including leading department stores. This can now lead to
difficultydating items. There was a thriving export business to the USA with salesthrough local agents.
