Here we have a very interesting estate find and that would be an unusual carved wood cup or scoop with a carved wooden beaver on the handle. On the bottom written in ink is “Penobscot carved Cup 1908”... The Penobscot are an Indian tribe found in Maine which is where the family told their history said this item came from. It measures about 8 1/2 inch long from tip to tip, about 2 1/2 tall from base to the top. Is very well carved maybe out of some type of pine, is very light. Some damage and loss to the one edge of the cup but not that bad. Please see my photos which shows everything well. Has a great undisturbed patina and shows its age.
