I believe this piece came from Iran. My father brought it back after WWII.It is 2 1/4 inches in diameter. It was labeled a compact because remnants of a mirror can be seen in the back of the top. It is beautifully hand tooled on the rim around the top and completely on the back. It is in good condition considering its age.
